About Cricklade Business Association
We represent a cross section of trades and vocations throughout the town, retailers, licensed and leisure industries, building trades, corporate administration, personal services, sole traders, home workers, transport and many more.
The CBA represents the views of businesses affected by Local Government policy
We lobby decision-makers on issues that affect local business and trade such as car parking, roads, tourism, renovation, urban improvements and maintenance, policing and conservation. We represent members’ views at town, local government and ‘single issue’ meetings. In less than a year from now North Wilts District Council will disappear and our local authority will be “One Wiltshire.” We have recently established ties with the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce and will now have a designated Cricklade representative at the table as the new local authority develops. CBA Members have benefited from various Local Authority funding for advertising, supporting local facilities and Disabled Access.
Act as a network for businesses and aims to source business within its membership
The Directory of Members for 2009 is shortly to be published. A chance to get business from your fellow members or see what services others can offer. We meet bi monthly with speakers of interest and discuss issues that affect your business and exchange ideas for improving the Town’s services to support business and trading. The CBA will offer even more benefits to our members through jointly working with Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce.

The CBA supports local events
Sponsors of the Cricklade Festival, the Christmas festivities and the new gardens created by Cricklade Bloomers. Did you know that towns that enter the Britain in Bloom competition statistically improve business and increase property prices?
Cricklade Business Watch
A joint venture between the CBA and the police to reduce crime, an exchange of information, about what is going on in your community. This has led to a number of prosecutions as a direct result of working together. Police information of criminal activity can be distributed to members within hours. Together we are working to introduce CCTV in some areas of the Town and improved security for all.
Christmas Lights
With the help of the annual grant from the Town Council and our members contribution we were once again able to supply the Christmas tree and decorate the town with festive lighting and make the arrangements for the annual carol singing and visit from Father Christmas, where we gave away over 300 presents to the children of the Town and entertained the towns people with jugglers clowns and fire eaters. The High Street traders move out onto the pavement and offer Christmas fare and if you a lucky a glass of Christmas cheer to passers by, it is all worthwhile when you see the faces of the children meeting Father Christmas.
